Remember the Alamo

We really enjoyed spending time with Reta's grandparents, brother, mom and her husband as well as with aunt Jodie and uncle Bob and all their freinds. Here is Little Reta during a visit with Granddad.
After many hugs and goodbye's yesterday we rolled out of Seabrook. Road Hazard was once again cut loose to roll down the road. Dissecting Houston we made our way across I-10 heading west for a 4 1/2 hour drive. As promised by many travelers we talked to, traffic in downtown Houston is always heavy. An eight car pile up that caused a few miles of rubber necking slowed us up but when you're in RH just get up and fix something to eat while everyone else sits in their cars. We decided to stop and get fuel. With the price of Diesel at $4.06 we will fill up as often as possible to save money down the road. While I was paying, a truck driver came in and with a somber voice declared that he never thought he would see the day when it would cost him over $1,000 to fill up his rig. I asked him how many gallons those semi's can hold. They have 3 tanks. One on each side that holds 150 gallons and another single tank of 50 gallons. You do the math. 350 gallons at $4.06/gallon = not good for any of us.
We settled into our campsite after setting up and started planning our points of interest here in San Antonio. The weather is calling for 90 today with humidity at 73. Just the way we like it!
I wanted to thank Bob and Jodi for having us in their yard for the 3 weeks we visited in Seabrook. We will miss our time spent with you.
