We took a day to explore Houston and the area around it. Very nice city. We really like the tunnel system they have downtown. It connects most of the big office buildings underground and there are shops and restaurants throughout the tunnel system. On very hot or rainy days there is no need to go outside. Makes it convenient to travel around the city. We also found a few oddity houses that we just had to stop by and look at. We ended the day by going to San Jacinto. They say it is the birth place of Texas because this is the area the Texans fought with the Mexicans and won. They are very proud of the fact that this monument is taller than the Washington Monument in DC.
