We left the beautiful San Diego area and started our journey north along the coast of North America. Our fears, for a few weeks now, has been the traffic in the Los Angles area. We would be driving along I-5 for about 2 1/2 hours and skirting the downtown area of LA. We planned our trip to miss rush hour but like the DC area it seems their rush hour really never stops.
The traffic was slow and we inched along for awhile just taking in the sites and all the while amazed at the smog hoovering over the city. Trucks and RV's are restricted to the two far right lanes and have to drive 10 mph slower than the regular traffic.
We finally turned off on Route 1, which hugs the coast, and made our way up to Malibu beach. Our campground sits perched along a steep cliff overlooking the ocean.
After we set up I snapped this picture to show you the view we have out our front window. One word...AMAZING!
We later took a short stroll on the beach to get our feet wet and relax us from the drive. As I sit here and write this blog tonight I can hear the surf beating against the shore. One can get used to living like this.

Well, you won't get a gorgeous view of the ocean and open water in Nebraska. But... email us, if you are heading this way and we'll make you a home cooked meal.

Thank you. I'll be sure to take you up on that. Nebraska is looking good already!
