Go Blue!

What better to do on a Sunday than to go out and see a Dodgers Baseball game! We were invited to attend the game with Angelo and his finance Jessica, ex-coworker of Reta, that live here in LA. They gave us these great seats behind home plate where you could see all the action up close. The stadium is an old ball park. It's celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Being old is not a bad thing. It holds all the charm and history in these walls. It's the way baseball should be watched. Not with all those huge Club Levels. Not all those multitude of vendors. You're there to see a baseball game.

The crowd was buzzing with excitement as number 99 came up to the plate. Manny Ramirez has been the Dodgers latest acquisition. He was worth every penny. He went 3 for 4 with one Home Run that I managed to capture in the photo above.

Towards the end of the game (because we knew the Dodgers were going to win) we walked around the stadium to get some other shots. This is looking down from the highest point. The stadium sits in a canyon so you can see the California mountains in the background.

We were having such a great time at the game that once it finished Angelo and Jessica invited us to go into LA and experience a little slice of the Spanish district.

There was some Aztec Indians performing when we arrived in this section of town. The streets were lined with Spanish vendors selling all their merchandise. They even had Mexican Jumping Beans! We had a great Mexican dinner and I even tried their way of drinking beer. You put half a glass of lemonade, fill the glass with ice and pour your Tecate into it. Rim the mug with salt and add a lime. There you have it!
The more we stay around here, the more we are liking the west coast!
